University of Hawai’i at Manoa Hybrid MSW Program

The University of Hawai’i offers a hybrid online MSW program that follows a cohort model with some synchronous but mainly asynchronous structure. Traditional and advanced standing options are available with concentrations in Children and Families. Students are required to physically visit campus once a year, meeting live at the Oahu Campus.

For traditional standing students, course requirements to graduate require 57 credits hours, and 900 hours of field education. Advanced standing students are required to complete 30 credit hours and 450 hours of field education. Both programs are available in a part time option and take three to four years for traditional and one full-time years for advanced. The MSW program is available through distance education technology to neighbor island residents in their communities (Hawai‘i, Moloka‘i, Kaua‘i, Maui, or Lana‘i).With the use of a computer, webcam, microphone, and televisions, students will engage in classes.

Admissions for students is in the fall only. University of Hawai’i online MSW program is accredited by the Council on Social Work Education (CSWE).
